So I got this email from “paypal today, it was actually crafted well that i was tempted to click on the link, thought I would share it with everyone cause it’s a phishing email and probably steal your data to get access to your paypal account.
Here is the email I received.
You added a new email address to your PayPal account
This is just a quick confirmation that you added a new email address (firstname.lastname@example.org) to your PayPal account.
If you want to make this your primary email address – where we’ll send all your account-related information – log in to your PayPal account and go to your Profile.
If you didn’t add this email, let us know right away. It’s important because it helps us make sure no one is getting into your account without your knowledge.
If you believe you’ve received a phishing email, follow these steps right away:
- Forward the entire email to email@example.com
- Do not alter the subject line or forward the message as an attachment.
- Delete the suspicious email from your inbox.
We’ll look into it and email you a response to let you know if it is indeed fraudulent. In the meantime, don’t click any links or download any attachments within the suspicious email. If you‘ve responded to a fraudulent email and believe your PayPal account may now have been accessed, you should report the unauthorised access immediately.
